Pilsen for Investors
Thanks to its strategic location at the crossroads of trade routes, the city of Pilsen has always been the main commercial and cultural center of western Bohemia. Today, it continues to benefit from its advantageous geographic location in the center of Europe, excellent highway connections to the Czech capital and neighboring Germany (interstate highway D5) and the proximity of Prague Vaclav Havel International Airport.
The city of Pilsen has a wealth of experience with foreign investment, and the support of new investors is an integral part of the development program for the city of Pilsen. The cornerstone of the city’s strategy is support for companies deciding to invest in the city. More information for investors can be found here.
The Urban Planning and Development Institute of the City of Pilsen (www.ukr.plzen.eu) cooperates with the Pilsen Region, the Regional Development Agency of the Pilsen Region, BIC Pilsen, and the Pilsen Region offices of Czech Invest. A biannual Czech-English newsletter called Investments in the Pilsen Region has been published since 2007.
Pilsen is the only city in the Czech Republic that holds a World Trade Center License. The Urban Planning and Development Institute of the City of Pilsen is responsible for The World Trade Center Pilsen project (www.wtcpilsen.cz). The World Trade Center itself, on the sixteenth floor of the BCB Building on Anglicke Nabrezi [English Riverbank(street)], has been open since March of 2012. Thanks to a network of nearly 330 world trade centers, WTC Pilsen benefits from access to a lot of valuable business information and can aid companies that intend to develop on an international scale.
